Israel is so cool and dynamic.  There are tons of opportunities for some really cool shots. I really had an amazing time, and I can not wait to go back.  These are my favs from the trip.

Spent Last weekend @Joshua Tree National Park

Saw some amazing sunsets followed by some pretty breathtaking views of the Milky Way

It turns out, that the beautiful sunset was likely enhanced by the smoke from the wildfires raging nearby

Big Eyed Phish and the Zac Brown Tribute Band @ Water st Music Hall of Rochester May 4

It was a tribute fest on saturday at Water Street in Rochester.  Upstate and Western NY’s premiere Dave Matthews cover band, Big Eyed Phish rocked Water St Music hall's socks off! Their next show will be June 14 @The East End Fest in the ROC. Hopefully they will make their way to NYC at some point this summer

The Zac Brown Tribute Band's opening act was nothing short of brilliant.  There is certainly something to be said about Killing in the Name played on a fiddle.  They will be playing the Lilac Fest (main stage) on the 11th

The Dillinger Escape Plan @Music Hall of Williamsburg April 27

New Jersey mathcore legends The Dillinger Escape Plan showed that after 16 years they have not slowed down in the least.  Opening with a single off their new record One of Us is the Killer, coming May 14th, DEP’s signature sound and energetic performance absolutely dominated the Music Hall of Williamsburg on Saturday night.  The band played tracks from all of their albums during the 75 minute set and invited the crowd on-stage to celebrate the chaos before finishing with fan-favorite 43% Burnt. DEP are touring the rest of the country and Europe before returning to NYC in August to headline the Summer Slaughter Tour at the Best Buy Theater.

Hank and Cupcakes, Dynasty Electric and Stokeswood @ Brooklyn Bowl April 3 images by Dan Justa

There is no cure for hump day, but looking for some bangin music Halfswag set out for Brooklyn Bowl. A sweet venue if there ever was one—big space, never too crowded. Oh, and there’s beer. And shots. And the people are like, nice and shit.

First band up was Stokeswood—five-piece band from Atlanta doing the whole guitars, drums, synth. In other words, dance music. If you want to rock out with your tie slightly loosened, check ‘em out next at The Big Up Festival

Second was Dynasty Electric, bringing in some amazing vocals from a beautiful lead singer and dare we say it? A sax player so good we want all sax solos from the 80s back. Catch them next at the Greenpoint Gallery on April 20th.

Dessert last (wakka wakka): Hank and Cupcakes. Turbo-rad guys we met up in the upstate purgatory that is Utica, NY. We had beers before the show, They have an awesome poppy sound that makes you want to dance your face off.  We will definitely be hitting up their next show at R Bar April 17th with Garek and Sappho’s Journey at R Bar

HalfSwag out.
